With this series, I wanted to bring awareness to the growing refugee crisis. I use Syrians as an example, as they are the most prominent group of refugees. Throughout the series, I describe what life is like as a refugee and how there is so little funding that goes into humanitarian aid in times of war. The Syrian Refugee Crisis is known as the most significant humanitarian emergency of our era, so bringing more light onto this crisis and similar ones may cause leaders to prioritize helping other countries in times of need. I noticed that when it came to more vital statistics, it becomes tough to separate the individual people from the situation. To solve this, I used the dotted line motif to more emphasis on the individuals that suffer from these situations.
